Post-holiday blues!
As the days begin to get shorter and we transition to Autumn, how are you feeling?
We can create so much stress for ourselves yearning to be somewhere we are not, can’t we? I’d dearly love to be back in the wilds of Scotland right now, on the beach and immersed in nature!
Did you enjoy a summer break that was over far too quickly and are you finding yourself longing to be back there?
So what can we learn from post-holiday blues?
- There is something in our life that is not exactly as we want it to be. It could be a job, a relationship, something missing in our life that causes us to long for something else, something different. The message could be that something is out of balance.
- We’re not ready to go back to routine. We’re tired, our batteries are flat and we haven’t given ourselves enough time for them to fully charge before going back into the busyness of life.
- Perhaps we feel restricted in our day-to-day life and when we’re on holiday we feel free!
It could be that our expectation of ourselves is too high. We’re expecting oursleves to snap back in to our regular work routine when we don’t feel fully rested.
