Letting Go, Leaning In, and Lighting the Way Forward
This month has been one of deep contrasts.
I co-taught another beautiful PSYCH-K® Online Level 1 workshop with my dear friend Cazzie. We’ve found such a natural rhythm teaching together, it’s both light-hearted and deeply impactful. Every group brings their own unique magic, and this one was no exception. It’s always amazing to witness people from all over the world stepping into their power with such grace and curiosity.
Not long after, I was back in-person for a PSYCH-K® Basic Workshop in Newcastle. There’s something so grounding about being in a room together, seeing the shifts, the realisations, and the breakthroughs unfold right in front of you. Every workshop reminds me why I love this work. And still, July has also asked me to pause, to reflect.
I said goodbye to my mother-in-law this month. She had been living with dementia for some time, so it was a slow and quiet goodbye. Anyone who has lost someone to dementia knows that grief doesn’t arrive in one moment; it seeps in gently, again and again, as you watch the person you love slowly fade. And even though we knew it was coming, there’s still a softness, a sadness, in saying the final goodbye. I’m focusing now on remembering her for who she truly was, not the shell she became.
Grief has its rhythm, and I’m allowing it to move through me. But there’s also been peace. Loss is reminding me of what matters most. Presence. Connection. Laughter. And I’ve had so many of those moments this month, too.
As Queen Elizabeth II said, “Grief, after all, is the price we pay for love.”
And if that’s true, I’ll keep paying it.
What I’m Enjoying This Month:
- Reading: The 5 Types of Wealth by Sahil Bloom. An insightful book that outlines the different types of wealth, time wealth, social wealth, mental wealth, physical wealth and financial wealth.
- Listening: “We Can Do Hard Things” with Glennon Doyle – An episode on navigating grief and showing up imperfectly really hit home. It reminded me we don’t always have to be strong, we just need to be real.
- What’s Inspiring Me: The resilience of community. The way people show up, for each other, for strangers, and for themselves. I’ve felt that support in so many ways this month and it’s deeply humbling.
Final Thoughts:
How’s your summer unfolding? Is it restful? Reflective? Busy?
Wherever you are, I hope you’re carving out time for what matters most to you.
Sending you much love,
Sharon xo
